Our Take Care project so far....
We have made a great start to our Take Care project this year so far. Classes have been involved in lots of different ways.
Our launch involved an open morning where parents were able to come in and learn all about the 4 areas of the
Take Care project and then visit the hall to talk to our visitors about the different aspects. We had volunteers available to talk about taking care of our environment through Forest Schools activities, ourselves through keeping fit and healthy, others through first aid and many, many more.
Year 5 have been out and about getting involved with a number of activities such as the Leaf Sweep at Arnot Hill Park. This not only taught the children about the environment but also about helping out in the local community. They are also forging links with a Dementia Care home by writing letters to the residents.
In Foundation the children had visitors from the local Fire Brigade to learn about safety.
During Arts week all the children in school were busy finding ways to take care too. They learned mindfulness techniques, planted bulbs that they are currently looking after and painted positive messages on rocks to hide in the local area for others to find.
If you wish to get involved or have any other ideas about what we can do for this project then please get in touch with your child's class teacher.
