Some photos of what we have been getting up to this year!

Welcome to Year 5

In Year 5 we try to get involved in as many different activities as we can. We really enjoyed helping the local Park Rangers clear some of the many leaves in Arnot Hill park. It was good to think we were helping make our local community a nice place to be. Lots of other people had volunteered to help as well. We also enjoyed visiting our local Salvation Army to find out about the work they do at Christmas helping in the local community. When we were there, we did some lovely Christmas crafts.  Our class assembly was a great success and we enjoyed sharing with everyone our thoughts on Harvest. We have made and planted some planters to brighten up our playground and are looking forward to seeing them bloom in the summer! Having had a visitor from a local care home which looks after people with dementia, we have written letters to some of the residents there. We have also enjoyed visits from Nottingham University, working alongside the students investigating various topics to do with our bodies. To start off our topic about North America we made our own movies and then celebrated them with our very own Oscar's ceremony. It was lovely seeing everyone dress up in their best clothes!

Please enjoy some of the photos we have taken and watch this space for photos of the music sessions we are having from the local church as well as our visit to The Galleries of Justice.
